What Is Freelancing?

What Is Freelancing?

Explain what you mean by freelancing, please.

Okay! The definition or meaning of freelance work is simply that someone is selling their skills to somebody else. Take me for an example, I do freelance writing. People need articles or essays written, so they hire me and I create and sell my content to them. I apply and offer my services to them, and they pick the best candidate out of a group of freelancers. It is a very simple concept that has a very broad range of skills and services involved.

What skills do people offer?

People offer their expertise in absolutely EVERYTHING. The amount of freelance work and employers out there is immense, and anyone can offer their skills for hire and find someone who needs them. It is a massive community of contractors and employers. There are so many different websites that you can work on and for. Two of the big ones are Freelancer, which I use, and oDesk.

Can I do freelance work?

Unless you possess no abilities at all, yes! Simply find a website that suits you and begin applying for job offers. People are looking everywhere for skills and content, whether it be journalism or computer programming, and if you can provide them with what they want, you will be awarded. It might take a while for you to get the hang of it, but the learning curve is not that bad at all. I have only been seriously at it for a few days and I already have several employers and jobs to do. Just take my advice and don't give up.

Thank you!

Thank you very much for reading my short excerpt on freelancing. It wasn't very in-depth or anything, but I just wanted to help people out who had no clue what freelancing is. If you are interested in doing some freelance work, I would suggest you use Freelancer. They are very easy to use and navigate, and you should get the hang of it very quickly. You can either search their website or help me out by using my affiliate link. Don't worry, I wont be offended if you don't, my goal here is not to amass referrals. Thank you again, http://www.freelancer.com/affiliates/trystan753/

My Experience With Freelancing and Freelancer Part 2

My Experience With Freelancing and Freelancer Part 2

Dedication and following through....

I am extremely happy with how my freelance writing is going. Sure, it is still going at a slow pace, but I see progress. I got hired on to my second project today, and this time it seems like the business relationship will last and provide me with a steady source of work. I had to write five articles today on fashion, something I enjoy but know nothing about when it comes to the women's side, but I still was able to complete it and submit my work. It took me roughly and hour and a half to complete the work, but it went by fast.

What about the money?

A dollar twenty-five is how much I make per four hundred word article. It is not much at all, but in time my pay will increase along with the rate at which I complete the articles. I believe that if I continue with my dedication and effort, my income will be enough to satisfy me. A lot of people give up right away when they aren't noticing much return on their efforts, and that is the wrong way to go about it. You have to build a portfolio and stature so that people know you are trustworthy and legitimate. That is what I am working on right now, and I believe it is going very well.

What does the immediate future have in store for you?

The immediate future for me includes a lot of work, not as much free-time as I'd like, and slow progress. Progress is progress though, and any work I put in now will greatly help me in reaching my long-term goals. The work I am doing right now is simply a foundation for any future projects that I might pursue. I wan't to have a large and expansive foundation so that I can feel secure and motivated when I decide to branch out and work on bigger things. For now though, I must simply write. I just need to keep on blogging and doing my freelancing work. I enjoy all of it, and I hope that doesn't change.

Thank you!

Thank you for reading this post. I hope you walk away knowing a little more or thinking a little different after reading it. Does the freelancing intrigue you? Well, I do my work on Freelancer and you can either go directly there to sign up, it is very simple, or you can help me out and use my affiliate link. I won't be offended or upset if it isn't used, but it helps me out as a new freelancer.  http://www.freelancer.com/affiliates/trystan753/

My Experience With Freelancing and Freelancer Part 1

My Freelancing Experience Part 1

What are you talking about?

I have always had a passion for writing. Words just flow from my brain to the paper, or monitor as the situation warrants. I picked it up when I was little, and still haven't put it down. When I got in trouble in school I would enjoy it because I would be assigned an essay about what I did wrong. Now, I know what you are thinking, what a nerd. Right? Maybe a little bit, but my essays were all completely off topic. I would be so mean and terrible in the essays, but anyone who read them would say it was actually very well-presented in a humorous, dark though it may be, way. Off of my rant, I am a decent writer. I enjoy it. I work fast. I should freelance write. Okay.

Okay, so, my progress so far.

Well, many people would look at my progress over the past couple of days and laugh. No, I have not been doing this for long. Only a few days so far. That is why I am blogging about it in parts, so I can fully immerse you guys in what this takes and how long it will take to grow into fruition. I have been applying for little article writing jobs where you get a subject and you just write about it. It is simple to do for me and doesn't require much time. I have to build a portfolio and history though. People aren't going to hire me if I can't prove I am capable of doing the work. It is the internet, and people have to be wary about who they trust. That is why I have been charging nothing for my work and submitting samples for free. Sure, no money, but I will slowly build respect and trust with employers. See, you can't expect to make it from the very beginning. You have to dedicate time and planning to it, just like with all things in life.

About the writing...

I can definitely see how a lot of the writing desired by these employers is dry and boring. Who wants to write a five hundred word article on insurance? Not me, but guess what? I did, and in the process I learned information about insurance that I did not know prior to doing research and writing. It is a tedious game that only those who are dedicated should play. If you have the skills and mindset, you will prosper. I still do not know if I possess them yet, but I am hoping I do and I'm going to put the effort in to get an accurate result.

In conclusion,

This post is not a tutorial on getting into freelance work or writing. It is far from it. It is simply my experiences as they unfold. Maybe in the future I will be able to produce tutorials for my readers, but as for now I lack the knowledge and capability. I will be posting these parts regularly, so definitely be sure to stop by and monitor my success or failure, whichever way my efforts lead to.

If you are intrigued by the work,

It is simple to get into and I made sure to keep any affiliate links out of my post. That is not the point. If you do wish to get into this work and give it a shot, I am using the website freelancer. It is simple to use and I don't need to explain, but if you want to help me out, here is my affiliate link: http://www.freelancer.com/affiliates/trystan753/

Thank you!

Thank you for reading the beginning of my freelancing progress reports! I hope you enjoyed! If you have any feedback, suggestions, or even tips for me, let me know!

Blog Views

Blog Views

So, you want your blog to get a lot a views really fast?

Well, don't go off asking for it. You can't look up and research all these tactics and programs and hope to find some magic secret that is going to get you ten thousand views in one second. No, it doesn't work like that at all. You want your blog to be successful? Write. Write a lot. Don't stop writing. When you aren't writing, read. When you aren't reading, write. If you aren't doing either of those things then you damn sure better be doing something productive. It takes dedication.

But all these programs and techniques seem to work!

Yes, they do work. For the people who made them. The people who made these programs and tactics that you are researching, buying, signing up, and working for are the ones making all the money. Do yourself a favor, and close all the bullshit that you are reading. Close my webpage right now if you already get the gist of what I'm saying. Now, start typing. You can't expect to make views and make money from a blog that is severely lacking content. You can write about anything you can imagine. Anything that pops up in your mind can be typed and published. I used to be so dry and unimaginative, and I am still sort of that way. I realized that people can be entertained by anything though. You could type the word apple a thousand times, and someone would somehow find your blog and be like, wow, this guys likes apples.

I have absolutely nothing to write about!

Why are you trying to blog then? Damn, if it is that hard for you to come up with content then the writing game isn't for you. Do you know why? Because just the fact that you are unable to write and be creative is a subject in itself. Go write about how you have nothing to write about. Write about how the author of this blog is a dick, I really don't care. I'm just telling you that it is stupid to expect that your blog or website will be successful without the production of content. Hell, hire somebody if you need to. If you are going to try to create massive traffic to your website and make money, then yo

Taking Care of Yourself

Taking Care of Yourself

What do you mean?

Your body is your vehicle. It gets you around and protects you, and it is also what other people see you in. How you look is your first impression upon people, and I don't mean you have to look cool or professional. You can simply look maintained and have such a good first impression on somebody. Back to the physical part of things, you have to take care of yourself. You have one life, one body, one limited amount of time on Earth. Why would you disregard and mistreat your vehicle through it all? It is so damn easy to maintain a simple living and maintenance, but only a few people properly do it. It doesn't even have to be a big diet and life change!

Sounds difficult to me though! How is it easy if so many people don't do it?

It sounds difficult or challenging to you? How insanely lazy are you? Go out and buy some vitamins, drink some water, it an apple, and go to bed a reasonable time. I'm not even asking you to do any exercise at this point! Just ease into a pattern of making better decisions for your body. So, you've gone a couple weeks eating a little healthier and doing small things to improve your health? Well, now you just add one or two little things into the mix and get used to that! Go for a walk or jog, do some push ups and sit ups every night before bed, wake up and do jumping jacks, cut out something bad in your diet. There is always something you can do to improve yourself, no matter who you are.

Is this all I have to do?

Hell no it isn't! Your physical body is just one part of a whole system. You can't neglect your mind. Just like you need to exercise your body and feed it right, you need to do the same for your mind.

That sounds much more difficult than working on my body though...

Not at all! You don't even have to move to do this stuff. Read a book! Yeah, you heard right. What do intellectual, successful people do? They read. What did they do growing up? Read. You simply read a book and in the process you draw conclusions, make predictions, form opinions, and absorb knowledge. It does not matter what you read. Fiction, biographies, DIY, how to make money, mysteries, historical, newspapers, and everything else under the sun. Pick something you like, and read about it. Reading is not your only option though, not by a long shot. Do you feel strongly about something and you want your opinion heard? Okay, write about it. Do you have a vivid imagination and need a way to channel your creativity? Okay, write about it. Do you know something obscure or funny that not many people know about? Okay, right about it. Put your knowledge out into the world. It doesn't matter who you are, if you can write, someone will read it.

What else? There has to be more for me to do!

You have no idea. There is so much out there for you to improve, experience, donate to, learn about, and express. I am not your life coach. That isn't what I do. I like writing, it is my niche. So is the internet. That is not you though. Everyone has their own passions and goals or lack of. Do you have something that you prosper in and donate time to more than anything else in your life? If so, that might be what you need to pursue. Do you not have something solid like that in your life? Well go find something like that. I can't sit here and tell you how to do it though. I am still finding my own passion. What I can tell you is that sitting around watching TV isn't doing much for you. Unless, that is, TV is your passion. The possibilities are endless my friend.

Thank you!

Thank you very much for taking the time to read what I had to say. I hope that maybe you gained something from this that you didn't have before you read it. Even if it is one small thing that I said that stuck with you, I am happy. I will continue to write more, about a multitude of things, so if you liked what you experienced here, look forward to more. If not, I would love to receive constructive criticism. Good luck!
